Will has been part of the Northridge community since 2004, serving for 21 years as Athletic Director and continuing today as Varsity Basketball Coach and high school teacher of Sacred Scripture. His coaching career spans more than four decades at both the high school and NCAA Division I levels, including positions at Loyola University Chicago, Wright State University, and the University of Evansville. Coach Rey has won over 500 games as a head coach!
Recognized for his leadership and dedication to the development of student-athletes, Will has received multiple Conference and IBCA District Coach of the Year honors. He is also a member of the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association, the Chicago Catholic Athletic League, and the Five-Star Basketball Camp Halls of Fame. Additionally, Coach Rey is featured in several on-the-court & virtual clinics, including his “Multiple Defensive System” & “Zone Offensive System,” as well as Zoom clinics on the RBCN Basketball Nexus website. Will holds a B.S. from Northeastern Illinois University and an M.A. from Concordia University Chicago. Born in Havana, Cuba, he and his late wife, Diane, have three children, including Rob Rey ’10, and seven grandchildren.
