LEARN COACH WILL REY’S “ZONE BUSTERS!”

The highly esteemed high school & NCAA Division I basketball coach, Will Rey, takes a deep dive into his zone offense system. Coach Rey, who has long been known as one of the most effective coaches of zone defenses uses his marker board to break down his zone offensive attack v. 23, 122, & 131 zone defenses. Additionally, Coach Rey shows his favorite special situation set play & baseline out of bounds play v. 23 zone.

Coach Will Rey:

As head coach at Northridge for the past 21 seasons, Will Rey has established a standard of basketball excellence with the Knights. Despite usually competing against schools with larger enrollments, the Knights have compiled an overall record of 420-188 (.691) and a stellar conference record of 190-46 (.805) since Coach Rey arrived in 2004. Overall, he has amassed 485 wins as a high school head coach and is nearing the 500-win milestone.

Coach Rey received Conference Coach-of-the-Year honors in 2007, 2008, 2013, 2017 & 2018, and named IBCA District Coach-of-the-Year in 2009, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2020 & 2022. He is a member of three Halls-of-Fame: Illinois Basketball Coaches’ Assn (2015), Chicago Catholic Athletic League (2017), and Five-Star Basketball Camp (2005). In 2010, he received Sports Faith International’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Before coming to Northridge in 2004, Coach Rey spent 19 years coaching at the collegiate level and 8 years locally at the high school level. As a college coach, he was on the University of Evansville staff and coached teams in the DI NCAA and NIT Tournaments. He also was head coach at Loyola University Chicago and an assistant at Wright State University in Dayton, OH.
