Coach Gabor drew up his infamous “32-Zone” defense, motion offense, & favorite quick hitters for us during his presentation. Additionally, Coach Gabor, told about his grad-assistant days with the legendary Indiana University coach, Bob Knight & his journey as an Indiana high school basketball coach.

Coach Jack Gabor has positively influenced so many young lives, both in the gym & in the classroom. Few coaches were as student-athlete centered as Coach Gabor. Jack Gabor is proudly just not a Hall-of-Fame, Indiana basketball coach, he & his beautiful wife Sue, were teachers-first. Coach Gabor was & is still a mentor to many high school basketball coaches in the great state of Indiana. Jack Gabor’s coaching statistics speak for themselves. However, Coach Gabor is more concerned about the impact he is still having on his ex-players, who are coaches, administrators, &/or successful professionals in northern Indiana. Jack Gabor embodies everything that is good about high school athletics.

Coach Jack Gabor’s Bio:

- 1 of 2 people to take a team to basketball & baseball Final Four before class sports in Indiana history
- The only coach to do #1 and be an assistant for the All-Star teams in both sports
- 4-Final Four appearances, two as a head coach and two, as an assistant coach.
- Final-Four, and as a manager for Indiana University during the 72-73 Final Four.
- 69% Overall record for 35 Varsity teams, 617-276
- Lake Shore Conference All-Sport COY in 1988
- #17 all-time winningest baseball coaches, winning % for retired baseball coaches.
- Two college coaching stints with two great coaches in Bob Knight (My main mentor) and Homer Drew.
